Which is recommended .....for TMPGenc encoding.
rencode a progressive film clip at 23.98fps and then run pulldown to up fos to 29.97....
Or rencode at noninterlace 29.97 to begin with?
I notice that after doing each ...DVD2AVI playback shows the 3:2 pulldown clip as flickering between interlace & progressive FILM, while it shows the Interlace/29.97 clip as PROGRESSIVE NTSC.
These results have me a bit confused as to which is the better clip for the video source in authoring.
By the way ...any thoughts on how I can remove interlacing altogether ...ie. convert the fields in a frame to a single motion blurred frame ...no fields....similar to how Premiere does flicker removal on a clip?
I find that motion blur looks a lot better in animated clips rather than introducing fields via 3:2 pulldown.
I have done about 300 animated lightwave 3D TV commercials (modeled& layout, lit & rendered with audio sync) and motion blur is cleaner.
