View Full Version : Convert YUV 4:1:1 to 4:2:0 ?

I have a source in 4:1:1 DV and I would like to convert it to 4:2:0 for further processing.

In theory I will loose some chroma data and in fact will virtually end up with something like 4:1:0, right ?

But How can I do that ? Can AVISynth read YUV 4:1:1 ?

Just open it a regular way then add a #converttoYUY2 function, it will work (tried it, worked for uncompressed 4:2:2)

Mhhhhh it doesn't help at all in my case. Perhaps I should be more specific about my problem : look at my new thread here please :

Cross-Posting is a big no-no here Wizal.

Please reread the forum rules - they REALLY are there for a reason.

I don't see your point, this thread was about opening a YUV 4:1:1 file with AVISynth, the other one is about a DV problem which could be related to YUV 4:1:1, the fact that I refer to the other thread here is merely to try to explain why I need to be able to open a YUV 4:1:1 file with AVISynth.

does directwhowsource help?

Koepi, if you feel that is OT, then that op's control panel is at your service :-)

Nopes, it still open the file as if it was 4:2:0, so the chroma is wrong :(
