Ripping just a few chapters

Hi everyone,

I've ripped this movie with Smartripper and left some chapters out. I ended up with a 4,2 GB VOB file, used Ifoedit .91 to rebuild IFO files. The thing is: how do I split this big VOB into 1 GB files? When I ask Ifoedit to use 1 GB and rebuit VOBU pointes it reads the entire big file and does nothing?!?

I'm not sure how you got this big file. I use Smartripper all the time & it does the usual 1 Gb VOB file. I can't work out the method you are using but here is how I do it :-
1. Start up SmartRipper and wait for it to read the DVD.
2. Select the File rip method.
3. Select the Vobs you want to rip.
4. Select the Target directory for the files.
5. Settings as default (IE Key-check = every vob-file; VOB file access=auto; Options = Region free, unlock drive, DeMacrovision).
6. Press the Start button.

This should give you a number of separate 1,048,574 KB files with the last one being the remainder. As I said, I use SmartRipper all the time and have never had it ripped into a 'big - big' file !!!
