Hi!
I have a Pioneer DV-343 with the Region Code 2.
I bought some Region 1 dvds, which my dvd player ejects
after i inserted them.
SO, i found a region hack with which im able to change the
region code but that did not work for my dvd player.
THIS ONE:
"Remove any disc in the tray
- Press the SETUP on the remote control
- Move over to GENERAL using the arrow keys
- Select BASIC
- Press DISPLAY - this will display your region and
firmware version
- Press CONDITION/MEMORY (nothing is displayed or
changed on the screen)
- Press the REGION # required (i.e. 2 for Region 2 etc)
- Press MENU to store"
I wrote to pioneer and they responded saying "
What you tried does work on Players without
a region code but some have a region code such
as yours... every dvd supplier is forced to release
dvd players with region code otherwise we would break
the license that allows us to sell dvd players..."
Well, they also said that they may not sell hardware that
enables me to change regions so i assume that there must be
some way to get my dvd player regionfree.. does someone of you know how i can change the region?
NOTE: Im not from the u.s. so my country has probably different
license laws for dvd players, just in case if you wonder why they are forced to have a region code here and not where you come from...
Thanks
