Well the subject says almost everything.
How can I prevent other instalations from overwriting my default mpg2 player (reader)?
How can I revert to PowerDVD mpeg2 reader?
Windows Player PowerDVD "reader" or "codec" (I really don't know how to call it) does a 4:3 ratio automatically....

... i can't help with ...
prevent[ing] other instalations from overwriting my default mpg2 player
... but to set the default player, one way is to right-click a file that you want to associate a program with ( ie. mp2 files ), goto properties then on the "general" tab choose "change", then choose ur program ( ie. PowerDVD ). That's XP, but it's more or less the same in any windows version.
Hope that's some help. :)

You might want to make you a script for re-registering the powerdvd filters. Another easier way is just use Zoomplayer to reregister the filters. There was a gui filter register tool someone was using I forgot its name.

Didn't work the way I wanted :( . After putting the "" in directory, Win98 did register but Windows Media Player is still getting LIGOS decoder...
Any other idea?
(sorry, this isn't really in my area of knowledge...)
