I am trying to re-author a DVD. When I demux the AC3 track from my vobs using DVD2AVI, i get a file called Others-DVD AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY -66ms.ac3, my question is how do I account for this -66ms delay in scenarist/spruceup. Neither will let me position the audio before the video, and I've tried using AC3Delay to cut the excess frames off, but it never is exact. Any ideas?

have you tried using an audio editing program to insert/delete the appropriate audio form the ac3 file? I use soundforge whic is pretty good imo.

I dont believe you need to compensate for that delay stamped on your .ac3 file. I know in the Ifoedit/CCE guide it says to remember that delay time but it doesnt explain what to do with it later. From experience, and i have reauthored quite a few DVDs, is that there is no lip synch problems. I thought i read somewhere that it somehow automatically compensates for it but i am not sure. Dont worry about that delay, unless you can tell its there.

soundforge 4.5, just drag and drop the file into it, it works for me!

Amazing. I've been trying to do this for years w/ my SF 4.5 w/o success. "Format not accepted." Can you post your exact version number and any special configuration ? Thanks.

I have soundforge 4.5XP ....no way it takes AC3 ...further more soundforge is made by SONIC foundry ...and they sell softencoder for several hundred bux. It is not bundled in soundforge.

Perhaps you have the softencoder plugin?
