I am unable to play or rip Mars Attacks! region five at all. PowerDVD 4 hangs and crashes. Smart ripper will only give me the opening screen and tell me to try to unlock the drive. Vstrip gives me a "Vstrip lost sync (not authencicated) [alba 0]" error. DVD decrypter starts to rip but the drive will hang and no matter how many times I hit the retry button nothing will happen. If I try to copy and paste the files from DVD to hard drive I get this bizarre error from windows "Error copying file or folder - Cannot copy VIDEO_TS: the maximum number of secrets that may be stored in a single system has been exceeded" Excuse me? I thought it might be my disk so I borrowed a friends. Same problem. Other disks play/rip fine. I have a working ASPI layer on W2k sp2.
Thanks.

Forgot to mention both disks play fine on stand alone players and are not silvers.

'Too Many Secrets' is another way of windows saying that the disc hasnt been authenticated. If dvd decrypter comes up with an error...how about posting exactly what it says! try hitting 'ignore' instead of 'retry'. This will make it jump to the next sector - helpful if its just a read error.

It's an ASPI error. I'm not at my box at the moment, but I can tell you that when it pops up it is random. Never the same place twice. I did manage to authenticate it with an old copy of WinDVD 2000 v.2.55. But still can't rip with any program. Although DVD decrypter does at least start to rip it.
