when i run the compressibility check in the latest Gnot and when i click the Now button, it immediately opens besweet and starts the ac3 to mp3 conversion again. it rewrites the previously created mp3 file. i killed the besweet DOS window and then it started the vdub and ran for about 5 minutes to do the compressibility check. why is GNot running besweet during a compressibility check? i am a bit confused.

as i remember i had the same problem with the old versions try this to reproduce it.
select and transcode your audio first then try running the comp check.

DaveEL is right.
i transcoded 1st and created an mp3 file.
then i did a compressability check and it opened besweet again.
if i dont create the mp3 file 1st, compressability check doesnt open besweet.

I got the same problem and found a solution: When you press the save & encode button in the preview window, set the comp test to the % you want, press save & encode, turn off audio processing and close the window (do not close Gknot main window). Close and open the d2v file again, press save & encode, run the comp test and it works allright.
Maybe a "cancel" or "back" button in the DivX encoding control panel would help cause we wouldn't have to re-open the d2v to correct this.
Gknot is the best encoder ever, the support for divx5 came just in the right time for me, keep up this *great* work and congratulations.
I'm a college student too and as soon as I get some money I will donate what I can afford, I think everyone that uses Gknot and can afford should do it should (not trying to criticise anyone, that's just my opinion).

And here I thought it was just me....
ever since I stopped using ac3 as my final audio, I have been having this problem cause I always do the audio first. and now that I think back... I have never heard anyone report this before. I guess there are not too many users that transcode the audio before doing a compressability check, eh?

I had the same problem with the old GKnot (Maybe also with the new one), quitting it and restarting always solved it for me.
