Can you edit OGG files with video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere? And are there any advantages or disadvantages as opposed to editing in AVI?

ATM there is no software to edit OGG. It is a final destination for now. You can dump the audio and video back to an editable format like AVI though. It is possible and relatively easy for someone to add ogg editing functionality. The formats and specs are fairly complete. Tobias and Ingo Rafblum have libraries on the subject. All that is waiting is for someone to moddify a software like virtualdub to do so.

I wrote a second mail to Avery Lee some weeks ago, giving him all the links and information necessary to support opening, editing,... ogg files (hehe, finally oggmux would be useless! ;) ), but he once more didn't even reply to that mail.
Frustrating work.

It seems that Avery is not reading his mail any longer, he probably does receive too much inquiries or questions. I offered to him to open and run a Vdub support board where he could direct all Newbie questions to, he didnt even reply to this one.
Well, i guess we can not blame him for that, he invested an incredible amount of time and work into Vdub, only natural that he is reducing his work load for some time.
