Some DVD-R's that I have burnt are starting to choke on me. Depending on what player I put them in they will "freeze" at random points, some in different places depending on the player. I've examined the tracks on the bottom of the problem DVD's and a see a group or tracks that are of s different shade than the others. These are Generic cheap DVD's, anyone else having these issues?

Have a look at this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24732) thread. You're definitely not the only one.

I have made well over 100 dvd-r's in the last year.
Both on a-03 and 7000..Just recently I have had customers comeback
with problems.
Problem solved.. I won't buy princo dvd-r anymore (so cheap, couldn't resist).
And not just a batch problem, the faulty disc's came from 3 different
batches, Unbranded (silver), branded white label & branded Black label. I should point out some were okay.(at least played back in the forgiving pioneer 7000).
I pulled out all my old dvd-r (pioneer & verbatim) that i made for myself and thay are flawless in all my players.
also i have never had a customer come back when I used pioneer..
Going to try the mitsumi next week when they come in...

Cap4000:
Try Apple.ca
5 box for $40.00 and I have found them to be just as good as Pioneer discs.
Costs $8.00 for shipping so order at least 3 boxes at once to make it worth your while.Usually takes 4 days to get to me.
Just so other people realize these prices are in Canadian dollars.
