Has anyone used Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 to create DVD's? I've had moderate success burning anything up to 4.7GB and no success in burning anything over 4.7. I've also had compatibility problems, although not sure if it was burning software or the burner (Panasonic 310)?

guess that's why they say capacity of media is 4.7GB, ahmm...

You might also want to keep in mind that "marketing" 4.7GB is actually roughly 4.38GB in the "real world". As for "Roxio/Adaptec" software, I've given it way too many "second chances" in the past. I finally decided it was crap and have not used it since.

I use RMeg2 to lower the size, it's just wierd that anything that was originally over 4.7 won't burn properly. I've never had any problems with IFO Edit or Rmpeg2.

@jacob: I figured you wanted to post here rather than create a new thread so I merged the two...

Prassi is ok. I've never had a problem with it. The reason you probably can't find it is that I believe it was bought out by "Stomp". It's now called "RecordNow MAX" was developed with Veritas so I'm sure it's reliable overall. I'm personally partial to Nero since I've used it ever since I dumped Roxio/Adaptec software. With version 5.5.8.0 their DVD Video recording became MUCH more reliable.
On a side note, if you're interested in audio CDR recording, I can't say enough good things about Feurio! It's really the best audio burning software I've seen out there and I use it for all of my audio CDR burning.

Prassi Europe developed Prassi Primo, the company was then acquired by Veritas, and the product was revised and released as RecordNow Max. HP bundles a watered down version called RecordNow with their burners, and, finally, Stomp markets the software. Very confusing, I know, but they are all the same.

Thanks MPU, I found a copy of Record Now. Looks pretty good, hope it works better than Roxio.
...to whom it may concern, don't think I didn't notice...

I use Prazzi Primo DVD which will not write all of my DVD's (especially if the ifos have been messed around with - but new ifo's & no menu via ifoedit is O.K.) for the rest I use VOB Instant CD/DVD .
Happy ripping
