Capturing Digital8 camcorder video

I am transfering (dont know if that is the correct term or I should use capturing) video/sound from my Sony Digital8 camcorder thru the Firewire port. I want to be able to make svcds from them because I have no dvd burner. About how much will I be able to fit onto a 80 min cdr?

Something like 30 minutes. Not much.

I don't have the exact numbers here but is more than 30mn; I'll guess about 40mn @ max bitrate.
