I'm needing to convert some video that I have to a 30fps mpeg-2, and I currently only have it in a 24fps avi form. I've tried doing this with TMPGEnc, just by setting the output to 30 fps, but I always end up with a video that plays much faster than it should. I want it to, visually and aurally, seem as though nothing has been changed.
Also, since I don't have a card that can do hardware MPEG-2, I can't perform the 3:2 pull down (correct?). I've also tried converting the avi to 30fps first, and though I end up with a 30fps clip that plays at a normal rate, it often seems to "catch" when played; it's not smooth. Is what I'm asking for impossible? Advice appreciated.
Thanks,
