Hello everyone
I'm having a problem with CCE 2.64 Trial Version. As soon as I start to encode, the program freezes. The Encode dialogue box appears, but it simply doesn't even start to encode. It's the same with any type of encoding procedure - 1 pass VBR, multipass or CBR.
I'm running a 1.6 Athlon XP processor, Win 2000, 256MB of RAM.
CCE 2.5 works perfectly, but I'd prefer to check out the new software.
Any ideas? I've cleared the registry of previous CCE installs but still have the same result.
grab a copy of 2.62 and try that, i think 2.62 does support over 2gb avi files (DirectShow) and the only additions for 2.64 were DV support and XP support.

Crisis over. I bought CCE-SP 2.64, it arrived yesterday in a comedic outsized box, and the commercial software works perfectly. Shame about the dongle though, I really wanted to use it on more than one machine.
Do you get anything else over the cracked version? Nope. Nothing. Except that the warming feeling that the programmers of CCE get some reward for a brilliant piece of software.
Not that I'm having a dig at pirates. In fact, it's only because of my extended "home trial" of the cracked 2.5 that I felt comfortable spending $2000 of my company's money.
Oh, mb1 - I said "Trial Version" in my original post, ie uncracked.
the trial version is possibly a different build.
easy: can you try encoding from a DirecShow .avi thats using a DirectShow codec (ie no vfw codec installed to decompress the file)?
let me know if it actually lets you start encoding.

Point me to a link with an AVI saved in this format and I'll give it a go, sure.

Your 30 days of trial have run out.... If you are using CCESP 2.64 with the SSG crack be aware that they have done a very bad job with the crack for the 2.64.
Diodato is right.
Right now there are several cracks out:
- ssg1 and ssg2
- jack
- ama
noone overcomes 30day trial period but some have problems even after restarting the system.
ssg2 should be preferred now as it works for thirty days. then do a complete uninstall and reinstall - get another thirty days and so on.
or buy the software (easy2Bcheesy - should I really believe ? - ok I do)
But to be serious - CCE 2.64 SP isnīt worth more than $200 - I bought Tmpeg plus for $48 ...1

uhh, i dont have one i can give out handy, but basically if you have Prem6, just export a DV AVI and as long as you havent installed any 'software DV' codecs (ie matrox digisuite codecs, the Canopus Codec uses its own fourcc code).
if you want me to post a file, try to reply later today, i might see what i can whip at up home...
