Hi,
I bought 100 x DVD-R blanks but have NO idea who made them. In the old days you could use the ATAIP no CD-R to establish who made the DVD-R anything similar for DVD-R?
Doom9 how about a database on the site about DVD-R disks? (i'd be happy to scan 3 brands in for you that I use).
Pioneer DVD-RW
Pionner DVD-R
Princo DVD-RW
Noname DVD-R
Would be VERY useful to everyone!
Thoughts?

p.s. cdmediaworld is great for CD but suxs for DVD media

Hi,
I just read this on another board -
Here's a nice little app you may find useful in seeing who the real manufacturer of a DVD disk really is Its just like the CDR Identifier tool which was floating around the net except this is meant for DVDs. The useful option is "0E - Pre-Recorded Information in Lead-In" - this is the location of the manufacturer ID. You also must have ASPI Layer 4.60 for it to
work properly.

Hope this works for you, I have not tried it.

hmm.. I guess I have the necessary facilities to run such a d-base.. but not really the time to design a useful application and actually implement it.. so volunteers are welcome.
