When I encode my avi to MPEG2 in TMPGenc the output file I get is not compatible for DVD burning according to my burning program DVD Complete by Dazzle...I am using the 23.97 fps frame rate...Does DVD need to be a different fps or can I use the 23.97 fps

that the frame rate has to be 29.97

also you need closed GOPs

I don't suppose you could try it on a different authoring program?
If the framerate is 23.976, it should work, since that is a supported framerate.

Although the "Film" framerate is often quoted as being supported by the DVD spec, very few authoring appz actually support it. Generally-speaking, I would suggest you stick to 25fps for PAL, or 29.97 fps for NTSC projects.

Ah, I finally found this thread!

I meant to post back a few days ago, but couldn't remember where this was!
Gomen nasai!

Actually, Scenarist didn't like that file I fed it. I thought it had taken it because it actually bothered to scan the whole thing before it rejected it.

To import such a file, you have to run pulldown.exe on it, or in Tsunami select the "3:2 pulldown on playback" option.

Sorry about the confusion!

Well...If a movie is 99% FILm ...like Star Wars 1.

And I rencode in TMPGenc 2.54 .....should I set the output to NONinterlace or 3:2 Pulldown on playback?

The latter...I think.

Sorry. I don't really work with FILM input content.
