View Full Version : File not found when muxing with DVD2SVCD v1.08b1

I tried to convert two movies into SVCD using v1.08b1 of DVD2SVCD. The first movie was fine except the SVCD subtitles never display in my TV when they were played on my standalone SVCD player. My SVCD player can handle the SVCD subtitles for previous release V1.07b4. Due to I observed this problem after I had deleted all the working files, so I don't have a chance to look into the problem.

Before I started the conversion, I set the DVD ripping files in the directory d:\movie1\src and specified the default working directory at d:\dvdtemp with folder structure. I also changed the default output subtitles color to Yellow when I was prompted for the confirmation in subtitle ripping process.

I suspected the SVCD subtitles problem is caused by the separated directories to carry the DVD ripping files and the default working files.

Therefore, I used the same directory for DVD ripping and default working directory with folder structure for the 2nd movie conversion.

When DVD2SVCD proceed to the mux process, a bbmpeg_muxed_file.mpg was generated int the \mux directory. Then, a pop-up message window reported File not found error. So, I tried the Recovery option to continue the conversion starting from Mux stage, the same error of 'File not found' was reported.

How can I fix the 'File not found' error? Or, How can I complete the converstion manually?

Thanks for help in advance.

Read the Q + A. I believe you will find the answer you seek in it.

If that does not work let us know, but you can't use Recover without potential issues. Best to start over.

Yes I could just tell you, but it really should be read anyway and it will only take a minute.

You can complete the process by using BBmpeg manually. There is a guide on doom9.org. However I do not believe there is a guide for VCDXBuild, which is used to make the images.

If you just want to burn the mpg files after using BBmpeg you could use the SVCD template to burn.

Thanks for your advice first. Finally, I retried the conversion from the very beginning without directory sturcture. The conversion process completed without the muxing problem mentioned above. However, I still find that the SVCD subtitles for both of Chinese and English were gone with the wind:(

So, I will start a new thread for the subtitles problem.

Thanks you again.

"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "D:\ChineseOdyssey2002\mux\bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"

just picking a random thread but with 1.0.9 pre3 you can (or so it
seems use numbers. So far the following has WORKED:

"C:\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "F:\test2\muxed\bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"
"C:\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "F:\test123456789\muxed444\bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"
"C:\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "F:\123test\muxed444\bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"
"C:\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "F:\123test-123\muxed444\bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"

thanks DVD2SVCD for whatever you did to enable use to use numbers for bbMPEG. This seemed to be a common problem for those who never read the Q&A.
Anyway I put in oddball characters ~!@#$%^&*() and it warns you or prompts you as to each program path contains invalid character sets. This is awesome. I use a simple . to separate words and I a dash - would work to.

thanks for the eject and reload options too....yes I just had to test those out too...way cool.

Thanks you for your information on bbmpeg. That is why I could complete the conversion when I restarted DVD2SVCD at a new directory d:\dvdtemp.

Even though I read through the Q&A as suggested by Markrb, I still miss the info you mentioned above. I will reread the Q&A to see if there are other valubale information.

Thanks you very much.

Hi teacafe,

I think Mark wanted to make you read Q29 of the Q&A. ;)

Greetings,
Gerti

Yes that is what I was referring to. I didn't want to give a number because I really was hoping the whole thing would be read without missing that.
I think I will point out specific numbers from now on while making the suggestion to read the whole thing.

I still think a new problem is introduced. I used number in folder as long a I use dvd2svcd (note: \program files\dvd2svcd\ also contains a number in Dvd->2<-svcd!)

I use version 1.08b2 and suddenly the program stops when muxing titlepicture.bmp (1st time) and changecd.bmp (2nd time)!?! Never had this before.

The second time I started a new project in a new folder (e:\movies\atlantis) with subfolders (video, mux, audio, source and subs) without success...

It is quiet easy to add an extra line in de Q&A....

Why?
The Q + A already says Do not use anything, but letters in your directory structure.

This is not a DVD2SVCD bug. The problem is in BBmpeg.

If never had problems with a single number in the path (but I only try this for testing, it's better not to use ANY numbers), but I always get in trouble with 00 (two zeros) in the path.

don't use numbers in 1.0.8 build 1, however in the new build (when it's released) it will work...here's some test logs I just tried and it worked 100% ok.

from dvd2svcdlog.txt
"D:\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"
Analyzing: D:\eiga\00testing0012345\bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg

using set folder structure (subfolders)
"D:\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"
Analyzing: D:\eiga\00testing.000343256-5\muxed\bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg

using 00 in set folder structure works too
"D:\DVD2SVCD\bbMPEG\RunbbMPEG.exe" "bbMPEG_Muxed_File.mpg"
Analyzing: D:\eiga\00testing.3-45.5\muxed00-12345\bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg

Put this dll into the bbmpeg folder (under usually found under c:\program files\dvd2svcd\bbmpeg)
