Take a look at the latest MB comparisons at THG

Both include speed test in Xmpeg.

Don't be unhappy about buying DDR RAM,it should give you a nice speed boost :).
RAID is short for Redundant Array of Independens Disks.
The Gigabyte GA-7VRXP supports RAID mode 0 and 1.
Mode 0 is known as striping which means that the data will be stored in small chunks on alternating drivers. This means faster reading and writing.
Mode 1 is known as mirroring this means that all data will be dublicated on a second drive. Which gives you better data security.
Ofcause you will need 2 identical drives for this to work.

Buying potentially bad no-name RAM can make your good motherboard uselesss. With DDR RAM more than with any other RAM type before, you should buy the best you can get to be happy with it (and run it in CAS2 timings).
btw. I don't mean you need registered ECC RAM, you really don't need that - I only mean you should not buy no-name stuff to save a few bucks.
