After much searching I still cannot quite piece together the right way to set these setting given the following scenario.
The original source, and thus the file input into CCE via Avisynth, is a Divx avi ( 576 by 240 @ 23.976 fps ), downloaded from the net, that has obviously been telecined. (this is obvious if I am correct in that every 4th frame is interlaced, the others are clear )
The final destination will be a standalone DVD player, playing back into a multistandard TV...not a computer monitor.
So, which settings such be ticked, and which left blank in the MPEG 2 stream settings given the above. ?
I ask this because the advanced CCE help guide mentions that as regards these settings, quote "" The other parameters depend on the source. Use Bitrateviewer on the first VOB file to find out these parameters. Here's an example:.."" end quote.
Given I do not have a VOB file, I did not rip the source from DVD, this doesn`t help as regards wether or not to tick the boxes when dealing with an intermediate file ?
