If I understand correctly each stream in MPG file has its own ID. Example: in DVD's 0x80 and up = AC3 audio, 0x20 = subs, in SVCD 0x00 and up = CVD subs. Anyone knows what is the ID for SVCD audio streams ? I was wondering if we change SVCD audio stream ID to 0x80 which is the 1st AC3 audio ID in DVD's then maybe we can trick DVD players to send (SVCD) AC3 audio data to digital output (SPDIF) ?

I'd like to test that but is there a program which allows to change ID's in MPG files ?

following the iso-restrictings ac3 is muxed as private stream.
svcd need mpeg audio.

when patching private stream ac3 to mpeg audio, the player would only produce noise, because it tries to decode ac3 as mpeg1-layer2.
