pulldown oddity

I haven`t seen this mentioned in any guides, but does pulldown alter the bitrate of the encoded stream ? I can`t see how it can.

For example, using Bitrate viewer on the stream prior to using pulldown.exe gives a peak of 2511 and average of 1687kbps

The same stream following pulldown reads a peak of 3164 and average of 2128 ???

Is this some bug in Bitrate viewer ..?

You're absolutely right. There are two things I can think of that might explain why bitrate viewer gets it wrong:
- they intentionally coded it to report a 'perceived' bitrate (can't imagine why they'd do that though)
- it sees the framerate is 29.97 fps, and reports the bitrate consumed by 29 frames, instead of the 24 frames that really reside in that second.

Just one more reason I don't trust bitrate viewer.
