Would it be possible to implement a function that does disc-size splitting before/instead muxing ?
This would be really great for those who encounter problems with BBmpeg as muxer. Since chopping mpvīs to working parts afterwards seems to be a pain in the a** it would be a lot easier to have already splitted parts.
say DVD2SVCD putting out:
cce_encoded_video_0.mpv
cce_encoded_video_1.mpv
encoded_audio1_0.mp2
encoded_audio1_1.mp2
encoded_audio2_0.mp2
encoded_audio2_1.mp2
while the video is more important ... audio could be done with headac3he manually...
thanks for your ear ;)

It might be possible, but it is a huge undertaking. I hope I somehow in the future can make this work.

yeah it would certainly require some
major addition to the frameserving procedure I assume :(
but would be really great
a m2v cutter would make it a lot easier but it doesnīt look like theres is one which works reliable *sigh*

I just posted a thread on the subject of solving standalone DVD playing issues (jerky / chopped video output) using alternative multiplexer methods than the default bbMPEG settings in DVD2SVCD (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23887).
I noticed that anarco is trying to use TMPGEnc muxer (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23609), therefore his request. In other forums (http://www.planetenumerique.com/php...1299&forum=17&4), people have also reported success with the TMPGEnc muxer.
In http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.p...threadid=21104, Maras and Sekatom have solved the problem using I-Author muxer. I understood that I-Author was supported in the past by DVD2SVCD (also the muxer ?), and stopped because I-Author was discontinued.
Nevertheless, I noticed that in the CD Image tab, there are 3 options including authoring using I-Author. Would it be possible to have a similar muxing tab, offering the choice between bbMPEG, I-Author muxing and TMPGEnc muxing ?
While busy with feature requests, 3 other small things would be extremely nice to have :
. have a button to reset all DVD2SVCD defaults. I make so many tests changing options that at the end, the only way to come back is deinstall/reinstall DVD2SVCD.
. add an option for TMPGEnc to enable the use of the "enable padding" option. This option apparently solve some people issues with min bitrate (personaly, I stick to CCE 2.50 for encoding speed reasons).
. add an option to use X(S)VCD, i.e. to chooze horizontal and vertical number of pixels, rather than manually edit .avs script. Seems some people are in need of this (higher resolution or DVD compatibility).
Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Use the load and save settings in the misc. tab.

No problem.

Huge problem. CCE will not accept all types of resize. However, I have in the next version 3 sizes to choose from: DVD (full size), SVCD, and VCD (half size)

yes a choice tab for the muxer pleeeeeaseee :)
well for that we should first find out how to let i-author do big files ;)
for using tmpgenc it would be nice though...
CORRECTION: i-author DOES big files for muxing just not for the .cif
Iīm alerady getting confused ... how will this end ? ;)
so .. yes please a muxing TAB for i-author AND TMPGenc :)
pleeeez (with sugar on top and all that stuff ;) )

I read in the Readme file of the future DVD2SVCD version that :
. you will fix the bug with I-Author crash recovery (switching toVCDXbuild).
. you will implement the use of I-Author muxer only.
Regarding your suggestion : Use the load and save settings in the misc. tab.this is not possible when using I-Author. I tried a fresh install of DVD2SVCD, saved the starting settings and reloaded immediately after : the I-Author option in the CDImage tab has disappeared ! Thanks in advance to correct this bug. My humble regards to the great author of DVD2SVCD.

That bug has been fixed too.

Well, while we are on the subject of muxing here..I would quite like an option to bypass it completely if possible as now we have the resize to dvd tab I use Dvd2Svcd to make seperate audio and video files for DVD-R since I bought my burner (I can get 2 full films on a dvd with great quality thanks to you)
I know the prog is mainly for svcd conversion (hence the name) but it would be a helpful little addition as more and more people go the dvd-r route.
Thanks for a GREAT programme anyway :D
Oh, and this may be pushing it a bit but a hidden option to upsample back to 48000 for all those Svcds I want to convert back that were made with sound downsampled (before I knew better) would be the icing on the cake.

Don't want to sound rude, but all your suggestion, while good, could eventually kill the softwares usability. I call it "Option Overflow".

you can be as rude as you want..it's your software after all :D
The Muxing isn't a great problem to be honest but the sound option would be nice though.

Thanks to DVD2SVCD for the planned "Muxing only with I-Author". You can be sure that all Pioneer 444 owners will even love you more than they already do. :-) :D
Thanks for that great piece of software.
Kind Regards,
Christian

"Muxing only with I-Author", well not quite, I do still need to mux/cut using bbMPEG first. Then Demux and remuxing with IAuthor.
