tach,
die neue Version von 1.08 kann nu auch den ac3 Ton mit dem mpg direkt muxen. Kann ich die dann ganz normal als Svcd brennen und dann mich über dolby digital freuen? Oder wie jetzt?

Dear Sickboy*,
just to satisfy my curiosity: Why do you post in German?
This is a multi-national and therefore English speaking/writing forum! But you even didn't try to write a single sentence in English and you posted in the advanced forum also with your first post - if you really can't read or speak English then you should better post your question at www.ultimateboard.de - it's a German forum.
I just think it is very unpolite and against the netiquette to do so. In here there are only a few people that can read/write German so you will not get many help when posting in German and you also act against the spirit of this forum to learn from each other because other's can't understand of what's going on in here.
And in here there are many people from many many countries that are non native English speakers but they just try to put their problems into English words - but you're not! - Again, why?
To sum it all up - I think this would justify "Strike 1" for you - please read the forum rules and the FAQ's and the other stickies in here.
You know - I'm German too - but I will not do the job of a translator in here for anybody not willing to show some effort at least.

Wow! Such a long reply. But I think he doesn't understand a word you are saying :) Moderators should just delete this thread to avoid invasion of non-English languages. I have seen different forums spoiled with different languages.

ac3 is _not_ possible with (s)vcd. the only solution would be minidvd.
when multiplexing, ac3 is muxed as private stream, whereas the svcd expects a mepg audio stream. thereforce this ac3 isnt recognised by the player.

@gizmau
AC3 is possible with SVCD but is not standard. You can call it XSVCD :) Some players play it perfectly. Most of them are not. If you can get SVCD audio data to digital output then receiver recognises AC3 and plays it as AC3.

@juhan
could you please exactly tell how you author and burn this disc and on wich player you want to play this thing on?

@gizmau
You can create MPG with AC3 using TMPEnc (MPEG tools muxing) or with dvd2svcd. And burn for example with Nero. Create as SVCD and turn standard compliance off.
DVD players... I remember from Internet that some Apex players did the job well. I believe this was discussed in vcdhelp forum some time ago. Maybe you can do a search there. But if I find the source again I'll post it here.

@juhan
the thread you mean is probably this: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=81699&highlight=ac3+apex
but as allway this is _no_ svcd, but a (badly done) minidvd!
the only way to get 5.1 channels on svcd is to use mpeg multichannel, which is part of svcd-specs. unfortunatelly many (most?) player dont play it either, allthough they should. :(
