My friend has just bought a 'KOUTECH' IDE controller at a computer show for £25.
Another friend has a HIGHPOINT model, but I don't know if it was cheap.
Doesn't anyone know where I can get something like this, to allow me to re-install my old IDE reader?

to allow me to re-install my old IDE reader
????
What do you mean by "old IDE reader"? Harddrive? CDRom?
You can buy IDE controllers in any computer store and any webshop you like. These are usually UDMA 66 or UDMA 100 controllers just like the one you got on your motherboard.

When I say "Old IDE reader", I am talking about my old DVD Rom drive.
I know that IDE controllers should be common, but i just can't find many from my 'normal' suppliers (Dabs, Simply, Scan etc)..
They do lots of RAID controllers but very few do any simple ATA100 IDE controllers!
I only need it for a 4x DVD reader, so don't even do need an ATA100/133 version.. Just a straight forwards PCI IDE controller will do.
I did find a couple...
Some were stupidly expensive.
Others were cheap (Around £25) but the shipping cost almost as much.
I am just looking for a cheap supplier, who can supply one for around £20 and isn't going to rip me off with postage!
