I got a question here , is there any way of getting a Xvid.ogm file to play properly with mac os 9 and X? Is there any support , or filters for ogg vorbois in macs?

thanks

i'm not sure if anyone has another thread on this, but if its OS X, you could probably get mplayer to work (compile), that plays ogm's but without seeking in the file http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ you might have to install a few libs before you can use it though.

That's a good question and unfortnately I've seen very little information regarding the Mac solution to date.

The problem I see is that Windoze is using the DSF for Ogg Media playback. So perhaps a Mac OS extension could be made for such a beast.

Check out the Xiph mailing lists and you might find some more Mac specific information. http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/mail.html

Yes we need to get some Mac coders in the boat here. For Xvid and OGG as well. Xvid should be the easiest part. For OGG there will have to be a collaboration of the specs, Tobias, and the Mac coder.
