A friend of mine wants to know whats the best way to transcode a porn dvd. If I, I mean he uses Smartripper to demux the m2v file whats the best program for transcoding it? If you use TMPGEnc for some reason on porn dvd's they come out real blocky. What program do most perverts use to transcode these m2v files?

use CCE for the "best" experience
its the quickest and best quality

I didn't get it.
Is there any difference between Porn DVDs and Legal DVDs ?
I meant is there any difference between the method of creating of them ?

there must be some difference, I've made over 100 SVCD's from normal movies, using DVD2AVI with force film on and TMPGEnc, and have never had the slightest motion trouble, but with the same settings in DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc the porn movies come out horrible blocky, maybe on porn DVD's force film should be off, I don't know but I do know there is a difference

Use Bitrate viewer, to find out what settings that you should use with your m2v.
to encode using cce with a m2v you have to create a dvd2avi project file then use vfapi to create the framserving avi file.
its all in the doom9 guides posted by Byrone

Hi,
since this type of Movie Production is a kind of fucking cheap they use DVCam equipment and record in Interlace modus.
Re-encoding of interleced material is bit tricky and requires much higher bitrates.
As said before, use bitrateviewer to find out field mode. If interlaced you need to have at least 4.000kbps Avg. bitrate. Everything below will lead to adult censored image (blocky) during high action scenes.

P.S.
Try to keep your eyes clear while setting encoding parameters <- focus on the parameters NOT on the preview AND both hands on the keyboard !

First off, you will get more blockyness, cuz there is more movement in the video's. So you will need a higher bitrate, how do I know this I work on adult video, so you need higher bitrate. But then you might not be able to fit it all onto on CD, just cut out all the boring parts.

I just know that if a girls boobs are bouncing around I don't want to see blockiness, I wish someone had a guide for doing these movies, I really want to help my friend copy some of these movies because he is a pervert

As the others told before , the only way toavoid of blocking in shaking boobs and etc ... is using higher bitrate.
I tested a very shaky scene of one of my porno movies last night.
The best bitrate I found was 3000 but if you using 3500 or at least 3250 , it would be guaranteed.

was this bitrate for SVCD or DVD or VCD? It can't be just bitrate, I've used 4000 for DVD with TMPG and ReMPEG and got bad blockiness with some porn DVD's but not others. Also keep in mind you perverts that most porn DVD's are single layer so you can just do straight backups so always check the size!

For best quality use CCE and do a 1 pass VBR, then when it finished go back and do a 2 pass VBR, voila a DVD that only uses the bitrate that it needs to get the job done.
