Hi , i m quite newbie but trying to learning fast ; the 3 days-before posting on the board is a good thing , i read much !

Have a little problem , i rip a dvd , get the vobs , use dvd2avi to get my .d2v file then d2v => avi with vfapi
as i want to rip this dvd to svcd i need to rezize the 720*576 ( pal dvd) to the svcd specs : 480*576 , i read i must use virtualdub, and here is my problem it s not good explained in the tutorials: after i selected the filter resize and configureted it, what should i do ? save to avi and get a 100000000000GB file ? or save to a compressed format (divx ) ???
You re going to say i m stupid and lame , but i like quality rips , and i want to try cce , so could someone help me and tell me how to resize ? Thank you in advance

if u use virtualdub, its just a other way to frameserve to cce
U just resize the movie to ur desired size and AR, after that u just select start frameserving...But i suggest that u use FitCD, its a easy to use and understand prog that u can generate an .avs (avisynth) file with and then if u use cce 2.50, just load that file...but if u use newer versions u need to use vfapi convertor on with the avs file and create a fake avi file.... this will slow down ur encode quite a bit...

Hope u understand something of what im trying to explain :)

I resize with virtual dub into CCE and it works very nice. I have donald graft's smart resize plugin for VDub and it resizes very easily to whatever you want.

i understand , can u just give me some links to find your plugins or proggies ?
I use cce 2.62 so the avs file doesnt work , but i will try to get a 2.5 version.
when i start the frameserver in virtualdub , i have only to put the fake-avi file in CCE is that correct ?
