merging glitch

most of time when i merge 2 mpg file together with tmpg i get a high pitch pop sound right were the 2 file meets; is it only me, tmpg, or the version of tmpgenc am using (tmpg beta 12i)

That pop is inherant to how mpeg audio works. To not get the pop, you would have to decode both audio files, remove the bit of silence off the end of the first one, join them manually, and then reencode. It's far easier just to encode one big mpeg in the first place.
