The best DVD-R media

Hello all,

I was wondering what is the best media to use with, for example, the ao3/103.
I had some problems with Vivastar in my PS2 (to play a self made movie)
As far as i can see there are a lot of diffs between them all, will this be sorted out so that we can all use cheap media for our movies ??

Maybe people can tell their experiences here

If you want the greatest compatability, use Pioneer or Apple DVD-Rs. (these are $9 & $5 a piece however) For cheap media, I've had good luck with Meritline golds, cd-recordable.com general use, & judysdeals general use. BTW, make sure you upgrade your A03 to firmware 1.80. This made a world of difference for me.

where did you get the 1.80 firmware update? I have only found 1.68 at the Pioneer site. Did it help with write speeds at all? Thanks for any info.
