dvd2avi or flask with cce

I have never used dvd2avi...always used flask with the cce plugin. I was looking over the Robshot guide which uses dvd2avi.
Is there any advantage to using dvd2avi->vfapi->cce over using flask with the cce plugin???

Also, why do u have to change the time code to all zeroes?

I'm really not sure if there is an advantage in using the dvd2avi-vfapi over flask, but using the dvd2avi->avisynth frameserveing method is very quick, and once understood, it's very easy as well...A 2 hour video takes about 2.5 hours on a 750p3 for me with avisynth, and closer to 3 hours using the vfapi wrapper.
