Tmpgenc 2.53 No image

Hi !

I downloaded the new version of Tmpgenc.

Then I wanted to convert an .avi file to .mpg but got no Video.
The audio is perfect but totally black screen !?

The .avi file works perfectly if opened in Media Player.


What's wrong? Can anyone help?

you might want to try going under Options-->Environmental Settings
under the VFAPI tab, increase the priority of the Direct show reader to 0 or 1

Thanx for your help. Unfortunately it didn't help but I got the message "ReadAVS.dll file not found"

Have you recently insatlled divx 5, i had exactly the same with tmpg, uninstalled 5, and reinstalled 4,12, and all ok now.

Dumped tmpg in the end for dvd2svcd (avi2svcd also), as it does a far better job, and u can have divx 5 on ok.
