Hi,
I saw "Panic Room" tonight, with Jodie Foster.
It's not bad. That's my initial reaction. One critic wrote that the "credits are cooler than some other whole movies."
I don't know about that, but they are unique.
Without giving away the story or the ending if you haven't seen it, the basic premise of a "panic room" built into your house seems a little far-fetched to me. Obviously these things exist, but it seems that only rich paranoids would have them (a fact commented on in the movie).
Of course any suspense thriller has a large portion of things you have to take at face value (for example, the odds that the very first night a person is in a house with such a room it would be needed).
Also, certain things don't make sense. Why does Jodie wait so long to watch the cameras and time her forays into the house with the men's movements (only comes 3/4 of the way through the movie).
The acting, however, is well done, and the cast seem comfortable with their roles. The characters seem overdone and a little too stereotypical, but I think that is the fault of the script rather than the acting.
All in all, I enjoyed it and it is worth seeing. A bonus (as I see it :) ) is the fine view of Jodie Foster's breasts throughout the first half of the movie....
Hope this is useful to someone if you were wondering if you should watch it...
