Hi,
i lately had a problem encoding an svcd with avi2svcd (DVD2SVCD Version 1.7b4). Everything was ok until BBMpeg started, it always crashed at the beginning and i could not get it to work with XP Professional. Then i found an XP bugfix for the BBMpeg Version 1.24 beta 18 (original commentary:There was a problem that the program exited when you try to load a file in it for muxing, a problem that occur with windows XP. This patched DLL file (patched by kees ijpelaar) will hopefully fix this problem. ) and replaced the original dll. But afterwards DVD2SVCD would not start to encode, saying that there is a wrong version of BBMPEG installed.
Thats not a big problem, as it is not to difficult to mux it on my own, but i just wanted to know if this could be included, i dont know if many users have the bbmpeg xp problem.
Thanks to DVDSVCD for your great programm and the always improved features and fixes:)

Don't use ANY other versions of bbMPEG than the one included in the dvd2svcd bundle.

But, are you saying that dvd2svcd->bbmpeg fails in your XP box, or is it when you using bbmpeg alone that you have a problem?

hi dvd2svcd,
i know that i should not use any other version than the one included, but i had the problem using dvd2svcd->bbmpeg, alone it was the same problem, after replacing the dll with the one of the bugfix it worked alone. I did not have another chance as i wanted to have a muxed file:)
DVD2SVCD afterwards did not work anymore, because it was not the original version included in the pack.

doom9's bbmpeg guide explains how to overcome that when you are using bbmpeg manually.. just hit the load button on the first page and then hit cancel. then resume as normal... as for dvd2svcd & bbmpeg.. its not an issue really because the files are fed thru the .ini so never an oportunity for it to crash while choosing files, so should work just fine (does for me :)

This subject has been talked about over the past half year or so ever since xp came out. Its something you could of searched on and found the answer 2 with that said i think wookiee has answered your question. and as dvd2svcd has said dont use anything but what he puts in that bundle, reason being that if you for some reason start having problems we can't help you really if were all using different software or "dll" files. Not that its going 2 happen but thats a chance you take on your own:).
