I got the UK DVD of "Pi"
audio is ac3 2.0 (stereo)
every time i convert it to wave i get lots of crackling whenever there is sound
i hope anyone can help, i tried everything that got in my mind

how did u decode ? perhaps azid v1.7 ?

i tried some tools (some using azid)
gordianknot, headac3, vob2audio, graphedit, dvd2avi (gues i missspelt half of them)
i ripped with smatripper

Crackling could be due to a DirectSound filter you are using for playback. Try changing to WaveOut. What player(s) have you tried for playback?

i played the waves in winamp
do you think the waves are ok and just this player isnīt?

hehe..I have no idea if the WAV files are good because I don't have them;)
So did the WAVs sound fine in WinAmp? If so is WinAmp using Direct Sound or Wave Out? We need more information from you in order to help.
do you think the waves are ok and just this player isnīt? Which player? No where in this thread do you mention the player your using? Again, specifics please.

after converting a ac3 to wave i always listen to it in winamp to make sure the conversion worked
and the waves i made of the ac3s from the Pi DVD where full of cracklings when i played them (n winamp

Ok, still didn't answer my questions and I don't have time to guess at the answers. If you post your specific settings you used during the transcode to WAV then someone might be able to help.
