Hi,
Maybe this is a stupid Q. but i've read thru many, many, many guides, posts and faqs and couldn't find an answer:

I encoded a divx(5)-movie with AC3 sounds and it works GREAT on my PC.
I get sound both thru analogue out & digital out on my SB-live player sound-card.

But, I can't get ANY sound on my friend's PC (installed the audio-filters, upgraded media-player to 7.1, installed aspi-layers, even installed a free-sofware dvd-player just in case, but still no sound).

His soundcard does not have a digital out, but shouldn't i be able to get sound thru the analog or phones-out, just like on my SB-card?

PS: i posted the same Q in the newbies section aswell but i'm hoping for a better response here.
Thx.

any chance that his soundcard can't play 48khz streams ?

Thx 4 u'r quick answer.

That might indeed be the case. I know for a fact it can play mp3, wave and is full duplex (RogerWilco/MSN...) but it's integrated on a mobo (with 450MHz Celeron, 'bout 2 yrs old) and i don't know if its capable of playing 48KHz.

Any way to test??? Install a DVD-player?

... or maybe install Nandub and see if i can convert a 41khz wave stream to 48khz... ?

use any wav editor to create a new stereo/48khz wav file.
save it and try to playback.
