OK, here's what it is: I'm ripping DVD's into SVCD's according to DVD2AVI doom's guide w/TMPG, so I extract the audio with graphedit..So far it's great, the audio quality is awesome, (48kHz, 384kBits/s) but when i encode with TMPGEnc, the audio goes to 44kHz, and 224kBits/s..so when i play the encode, it really sounds bad (I thought it would not be much difference but ...) so i've tried to change this back to the original, but it can not be changed.. anyone knows how to make this possible or knows any other way how to improve the sound quality? thanx..

Do you use SSRC and Toolame as external programs in TMPGEnc? If no, you should try that. Much better quality.

Well, I've tried using TooLame but i didn't noticed much difference, but I don't know what SSRC is, so, where can I get it and do I have to run it together with tooLame? thanx;)

SSRC can downsample your 48.000 kHz audio to 44.100 kHz, which is needed for (S)VCD. TMPGEnc can do this, too, but with much lower quality. You'll find it at Doom9's donwload section.

You can define external tools in TMPGEnc (don't remember where exactly, just browse through the menus). You used tooLame before? It can be defined as an external tool, too. This way TMPGEnc will automatically invoke it, so you don't need to convert the audio manually.

Hope that helps,
