Hey - they have a cool club on Yahoo if you want to trade some SCVD's that you made for someone elses. You join the club and post your list of SVCD movies you want to trade for in the FILES section of the club. You check out other members lists of SVCD movies and Email them if you want to trade for one of theirs.
EDIT: Lets not check it out :p - cofferscuffs

All well and good but I'm guessing this post won't last long considering the sites attitude to discussion about piracy. :sly:

Well I find it interesting that they would not like MY post yet almost everyone who uses DVD2SVCD has a ( to use your words ) - "piracy" copy of CCE 2.5 SP. They even cutely list the pirated site to get CCE 2.5 with that "TRY ME 1" link on the DVD2SVCD home web page. Methinks that some on Doom 9 speak with a forked tongue when it comes to honesty and integrity with resect to "pirated" software. They HAVE to say no warez etc. to keep this site from shutting down - yet THEY list a link to a warez site !!! at ..

Regardless of Doom9's personal view of warez or divx downloads, the fact remains that this site, and the forums, must be kept as clean as possible so that in can remain the open resource it is.
Also the link you pointed out does not go to a warez site, unless Google.com has been hacked.

Where does that page link to a warez site? http://dvd2svcd.doom9.org has no links to warez, just useful sites and sites in different languages.

Grow up and get the point D1ckHead, do you want this site to be around in the future? Do you find it usefull like the rest of us?
FYI the subtle link is not on this site but on dvd2svcd's homesite and it is not a link to a warez site it is a link to a search on Google.
Basically, this forum has rules, they are made for a reason, not for the hell of it. If you want the site to still be here, if you want to keep using these great pieces of software and the guides then stick to them !

As this is getting to be a flame only thread, I'm closing it.
BTW, in the future I will put some members in sanctions, as some of them are still not acting like they should. No more, PM warnings and similar. You're gonna reap what you saw... ( http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm )
Thread closed.

before I close that thread down I'd like to clarify something:
as per the site's disclaimer.. what we discuss here is for personal backup purposes only.. any other use is your own responsability and if you don't comply with the copyright laws of your country then that's your business and a problem between you and the copyright holder. Obviously nobody can ensure that the available info will only be used for legal purposes but you cannot expect me to ask for the motives of each and everybody. therefore, nobody will ask you where you got a certain software or movie from or what you intend to do with it.
But for the sake of self preservation it is in your and my interest that we do not discuss such issues. If you have a warez copy of a 30k$ program that is your problem but you better keep your mouth shut about the fact that you do not own a legal license because people you don't want to know about this may hear it if you keep bragging about. This is the very same reason why we don't tolerate talk about where to download copyrighted motion pictures or software or how to crack software on this board. Except for a handful of people most of you haven't been around when the dvdsoft forum was still top of the line and when we only had cli rip programs like dodsrip... but those of you who have know what happened to certain forums... dvdsoft got shut down along with its successor. I also know of a couple of sites who got shut down, sometimes merely for the reason of once having had direct download links to pirated software. It would be foolish to underestimate the power organizations like the MPAA or BSA have and it is not very wise to try and mess with them.
Last but not least.. this forum is privately hosted. The admin of the server I'm on is a really nice guy who provides the necessary bandwith and is always very quick to fix problems as they occurr.. and he doesn't even ask for anything in return. But.. he'd be the one to get a C&D letter, not any regular member and most likely also not me because it's much simpler to cut off a site at the source than trying to locate the actual webmaster. But , since we're not talking about a huge corporation which has virtually no control over its members it could well be that any action on part of the abovementioned organizations could have a devastating effect on the professional life of the admin. What would you do if you owned a company and had one of your servers shut down because one of your employees was running a warez board (of course that wouldn't be true but in legal proceedings you always exagerate to impress the opposition)?
so.. for the sake of the people running the servers (they take the biggest risk imho), the admins (I'm not too afraid but it's better to be safe than sorry) and your own sake (because you could suddenly find yourself without an imho very useful board) let's keep anything that could get us into trouble away from this board. and to finish with another translated saying: What you don't know does not bother you. So.. do whatever you want in your own house but if it's illegal don't bring it here.
