skipping problem

I've started to backup my dvd's in the last few weeks and everything was going fine until my system somehow got corrupted. My computer wouldn't load windows and I tried to fix it but nothing worked so I had to do a parallel installation of windows. It worked fine and I re-installed my programs but the computer would not let me delete the windows folder.

Anyway, here is the real problem. When I went to put one of the moview on cdr I played it back and about every three seconds, the movie would skip and freeze, and then play for another three seconds, then freeze again.

If anyone can help me that would be great because I am completly confused.
