Does anybody know if the SigmaDesigns X-Card (and the software of the X-Card) is supported by Zoneselector (or any other regionfree utility)? I'm thinking about buying the X-Card but I want to be able to play may R1 & R2 DVD's through the same card.

Hello :D
My DVD-ROM drive does strange things ... it speeds up and slows down sometimes for no apparent reason and this will sometimes cause glitches in playback. SO ... whenever I watch a DVD movie I rip it to the HDD first. I use DVD Decrypter using the method found on the Doom9 web site.
To find the directions on Doom9 simply:
1.) CLICK on "the guides" along the left hand side of the screen
2.) CLICK on "Descrambling guides (how to rip a DVD to your HD, including HD playback)"
3.) CLICK on "HD playback guide (how to rip a DVD and play it from your HD)"
The first method (the C:\VIDEO_TS directory method) works fine for me.
Now why do I mention doing all this?
Well, if I'm not mistaken, the ripping to the HDD proceedure will strip the DVD of the region code as well as macrovision too I believe.
So you now have an exact copy of the DVD along with Menus and all the other extras with the exact same quality but now it is also region free and macrovision free.
There is one hitch ... I find that pause works fine but usually if I attempt fast forward or reverse etc it will crash and often times lock up your computer.
Hope this is helpfull
