View Full Version : Merging avis in nandub - GREAT problem!

Hi there

I've got these three avi's (originally one that were cut I suppose)that I need to merge as one big avi. The problem is, that every file has an preload skew of .25 seconds. And this causes the resulting file to have audio way out of sync when reaching the point where they were merged.

How can I easily solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi-

I'm not sure I understood all that, but you set audio and video to direct stream and audio to AVI audio, right? Then if the audio is already on each piece and synched correctly, and if everything is the same for each piece (fps, resolution, audio, etc.), then how does the audio get out of synch when you append each piece?

If it's the skew that's the reason they won't append or synch, then maybe append with no skew at all, and skew the merged AVI afterwards.

If worse comes to worse, you could always merge the video pieces without the audio, convert the audio back to WAV, merge the WAV files, reencode to MP3, and then add the audio afterwards. But that's a lot of extra work and will result in some audio degradation.
