Hi anyone who can help, i just follow all program setting of dvd2svcd. The result is I can ask for three different subtitle languages but n subtitle is in my svcd.
The subtitles must hve been made because i can find muttiple titels in bmp format in my subs window.
What did I do wrong. Should there be an extra file burned with nero for instance my dvd2svcd subtitlesfile.ini
Please help

Hello!
1) What kind of subtitle did you choose: SVCD / CVD / Permanent?
2) Do you play the movie with a desktop DVD player or with a PC?
3) How did you burn the cds? (cue/bin "created" by DVD2SVCD with a cdwrite prg or did you make your own SVCD?)

I choosed svcd subtitles
I played it with a desktop which can read svcd subtitles
I created cue/bin with dvd2svcd and used nero 5.03 for burning the cd
burned the following files
bbmpeg_muxed_file-subbed00.mpg
cd_image_file_cd1.bin
cd_image_filecd1.cue

No a harddrive dvd to play my svcds on tv.
I get the programcontrols to show subtitels, but there are no subs in it.
I wondered weather I copied all the files I need for a svcd.
These files are the ones that have been created running dvd2svcd.
and the three files mentioned I copied to a CD, all is well except for the subtitles

the bin/cue is all you need to burn a svcd.
svcd disks are used on dvd/svcd players.
do you have a software dvd player wich can show up subtitles?
btw, if you just wish to make a divx film to play on your computer
only, try using dvd2avi; svcd use mpeg2 only wich is usefull only on standalone players. divx is mpeg4 compatible and gives you better
quality on lower bitrate.

Now I have the same problem.Does anyone know the solution to this?
I ripped the files of a DVD to my HD with Smartripper.
Loaded the IFO file into DVDSVCD en checked subtiles :
Rip subtitels checked
SVCD sutitels checked
(other options are CVD Subtitels or Permanent subtitels)
Subtiles 1 Dutch checked / Forced checked
Save in Folder e:\rips\subs
(The outcome is all .bmp files in the english language)
Where is says SUBmixer it states c:\program files\dvd2svcd\winsubmux\winsubmux.exe
I presume that this is oke..Or do I need another program?
For Encoding I use TMPGenc en I use the latest version of DVD2SVCD v 1.2.1. build 3
Can anyone give me a clue?

The easiast way to get subtitles in a svcd-movie, is to use "Permanent Subtitels". They are encoded into the movie and are not removalbe. But the SVCD-subtitles doesn't work for me neither, and since i doesn't release my svcd's, thereis no reason to have them.

The problem could be that your standalone DVD player does not support SVCD subtitles. I had the same issue with Philips 640 DVD player. It does not support SVCD selectable subtitles but CVD subtitles work without a problem.
One way of checking your DVD player is to download the sample files which can be found on
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/svcd.htm
There are 3 samples available on this page. Download them and burn them on a CD/RW and try them. You should be able to tell which selectable subtitles, if any, are supported by your DVD player.
One other way of doing this, not 100% reliable is go to
http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers
and see if your DVD player supports selectable subtitles and what kind.
If you come to the conclusion that your DVD does not support any kind of selectable subtitles you can always use permanent subtitles on your SVCD.
As mentioned earlier you need to burn the BIN file created by DVD2SVCD only. In Nero choose BURN IMAGE option.
Hope this helps!
