View Full Version : FairUse forum closure.

Well, the traffic in the FairUse forum has died down to nothing but a small trickle. This is understandable, since there has not been any development of FairUse for quite some time.

As a result, it has been decided to close the FU forum. In future, any FairUse related questions should be posted to the "DivX3/4 Encoding" forum. I will be monitoring that forum, and will answer queries as they are raised.

Please note, I have not stopped the development of FairUse forever, just for the time being. In the future (don't ask when), development will continue. At that point I will take FU in whatever direction seems appropriate, and I'm sure that Doom9 will re-enable the FU forum when this happens.

Finally, a big THANK YOU to the regular posters of the FU forum. You guys were often answering the newbie questions that were posted, and most of the time you did so in a polite manner. This was a great help to me. I hope that when FU development begins again that I will see you all back in here.

Many thanks,

fu2k

thankyou for all your hard work.
your program was the best around for a long time
and I still use it for interlaced movies as it
seems to deal with them without me thinking.

fu2k,

Is there any way you can setup an Email Distribution list, or a Yahoo Group that people can subscribe to for notification of new versions? I would rather be notified by email instead of checking a forum once a week.

Thanks again for all your work on Fair Use.

I can't spend any time looking at that at the moment, but I'll try to get it organised when development resumes.

Anyway, I'm sure Doom9 will report any new versions in his news, and I would have thought that was required reading!

True it is required reading, but I have been too lazy to keep up with things lately. pacohaas mentioned the same thing.
