Ok, i have used the search button but wasn't able to locate the information i needed.

Here is the problem, after rippting (3rd episodes) with smartripper i get the following file

vts_01.lst
vts_01_0.ifo
vts_01_1.vob
vts_01_2.vob

The first vob file has no size at all (!?!) while the second vob file is around 50mb large

When i tried to rip the audio using vob2audio i get the following error on how i should use vobtools to cut the first segment. Now i have read the solution from somewhere but i can't find it anywhere.

Please help, this is driving me nuts! :(

I saw this and thought, "I just answered this. Must be a cross-post." But then, you wouldn't have posted your followup. So I went back to look at my recent postings.

The thread that I'd answered was http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22549. It's not an exact match, but see if it helps.

seen your post

it doesn't work

when i rip the 3rd episodes i get the first vob file which was empty, this than followed by the 4th abd 5th vob file (where the information for the 3rd episdes is contained).

same goes to the 4th episodes...all ways seems to get the first vob files no matter what i do :(

its ok for the first and second epsiodes, cos their information is contained the in the first vob file...

anyone?

I've had 0-MB files with SmartRipper before, when doing multi-episode rips. But I used dvd2avi to create mpeg2 project file (d2v) and demux ac3 files. It handled them just fine... though, granted, I did have to add vob files manually because they weren't in number order.

Sorry I don't have a silver bullet answer.

Hi-
When, as in the example you gave, you have an empty 1st vob, followed by the 4th and 5th vob, just highlight the 4th vob, and then 4 and 5 will be loaded.

Unless I'm missing something.

Edit: It seems I did miss something. If your method doesn't work when breaking the vobs into episodes, then change methods. Get the audio from Smart Ripper or DVD2AVI. Or maybe rename the vobs so, instead of 1,4, and 5, you have 1,2,and 3.

SmartRipper does that. Just delete the empty vob, then rename the higher ones lower. Should work with anything that isn't ifo-aware, and since the ripped episodes won't work with anything that's ifo-aware anyway, that should include everything you're interested in.

Ex.
vob_01_1.vts -> delete
vob_01_3.vts -> vob_01_1.vts
vob_01_4.vts -> vob_01_2.vts
vob_01_5,vts -> vob_01_3.vts

I know this works with DVD2AVI, DVD2SVCD, subrip, etc.
