I encoded a movie with XviD-06042002-1 _ALPHA_ Release from Koepi, and wheater there is a bug in it or the guide of doom9 is wrong. In the 2nd pass I choosed to encode the end credits at a size of 8MB. I followed doom9s guide and entered in the field "starting size" 0, because I have no starting credits. In the field "Ending size" I typed in "8000". When the 2nd pass was done I had a movie size of 390MB instead of 610MB. Then I did another 2nd pass with the credit option "Desired % rate: 20" and everything went fine.
BTW: Am I right that encoding credits with 20% is better quality than for ex. 10% or is it the other way?
Thanks. I hope you could understand my english!

I followed doom9s guide and entered in the field "starting size" 0, because I have no starting credits.

If you have no starting credits you should not even fill anything in here. As it is, you told the codec that your credits start at frame 0, which means that your entire movie has been encoded with 20% quality. Hence it came out at 390MB.

Next time disable the starting credits, and input the desired frames at the ending credits portion (if you have those).
