Ok. I have read all the other Subtitels link I could find, but my Question is still not answert.

When I put a normal DVD in my player, I can chance subs and view them as I want.
But after i encoed the dvd with DVD2SVCD, and I checked the "SVCD Subtitles" I still cant view them (I took danish, and English subs).
And its a "Daewoo DVD8000k" player, I never had problem palying any thing (SVCD,VCD,MP3,DVD)
But Sould it work if i changed to "CVD Subtitles" because i dont know what CVD stands for...

So if i could get some help here I would be happy..(AND I LIKE DVD2SVCD VERY MUCH, realy cool program!)

Ohh an other Question, what does that VFAPI stuff do good for?
I have CCE SP 2.62 (I think it is), so I Changed it, to "Safe Mode (VFAPI SLOW!)" but after at while that VFAPIreader pubs up, and nothing happen. there is a "add job" "delete job" and "exit", Shoulden there happen some thing???

A lost kid....HiK.....(sorry for my bad spelling)

My experience has been that "CVD" needs to be selected for my player - Apex AD1500 - to be able to play subtitles on my SVCD's.
If you are tryng to preview your movie in a software player like WinDvd or PowerDVD, remember that these will not display SVCD subtitles.
Hope this helps.

it happens, especially with chinese players like Apex (cvd is chinese version of svcd subs).
some people get there subs to work when they use another image-builder (e.g. i-author). you could experiment a little with svcd and cvd subs using different image-builders. perhaps you get lucky.

btw
the fact that you didn't find your answer using the search function makes me wonder, 'cos these issues are discussed quite often.

Yes i looked, but I diden find any good stuff for my question!
i think vcdhelp.com or what ever should make a better guide to make subs, I know there are many people that dont get that subs stuff=)

Ahh that maked sens!!!
Hmm If i try i-Author ( I have it, never used it.)
What should i try then, SVCD subs or CVD subs?

And why cant I-Author make bin/cue?

btw:
Issent there a way to test if the subs work,
insted of encoding a hole DVD, it takes like 20-36 houres! its a bit long time for a test, if you can follow me...

just encode one chapter of the dvd and use cbr instead of multipass vbr. also, if you have encoded the video and muxed the mpg-files, you can do a crash recovery and make new images skipping the other steps.

Here a hint for you hik ;)

The test SVCD from VCDhelp.com doesnt work for me with subs, but it does on my friends DVD player and the test CD from VCDhelp.com has CVD subs. So when i made a SVCD with DVD2SVCD i used SVCD subs it does work for me now but it doesnt work on my friends DVD player.

So you should realy test CVD subs on your DVD player before you try with I-author, becouse if i understood you, you never tested a CVD subs made by your own, and since the test SVCD from VCDHelp.com does work for you, it should do the trick...

@Hik:
if the CVD-example of vcdhelp.com works for you, Reptile-X is right: just try that.

in dvd2svcd you can encode 1 chapter by chosing it in "movie length" in the CONVERSION-tab.

Yes but I can only take the first chapter and the hole movie...
and in the first chapter there is no subs =/

this is not usual. can't you try another movie for testing purposes?

If neither of the examples from vcdhelp work for me, does that mean my player doesn't support SVCD subs? (Apex AD-1100w) Is it possible to use DVD subtitles in an SVCD? My player plays subtitles in DVDs fine (probably not I'm guessing)

A quick look at www.vcdhelp.com and you will see the Apex AD-1100W does not support SVCD subs.

oh that sucks. Is there any software DVD player for computer that will show SVCD subtitles, so I will know if they will look right if I ever get a standalone that supports them? WinDVD doesn't seem to show them
