Doom9 sais that DVobSub brings remote support. I haven't found anything like that yet. Where do I enable remote support?
TIA.

Take a look at dvobsub.txt, and let me know if you understand what those VK_* keys are :)

I guess I should have read that before I posted my question, sorry! I tried Girder but somehow it doesn't work correctly. I got it to change the subtitles, but not to turn them off or on. Also the VK association don't seems to be right. the documents say F16 changes the languages, but F13 does the job for me instead. But that's actually the only key that seems to work.
Any suggestions?

I use Girder too. How have you set the target? To the foreground task? To the player? I still can't get it to work at all.

I didn't set a target at all. I just went to the Keyboard page and for special Key I set F13. That allows me to change the subtitle streams. I haven't figured out how to enable/disable them though
according to the documentation: VK_F13 - subs on/off (cycles)
VK_F14 - subs on
VK_F15 - subs off
VK_F16 - next language
VK_F17 - previous language
But that doesn't work for me :( .

I couldn't get girder work either. I used bremote to test (see the other thread about 2.10 for the script).
Btw, could anybody explain to me how to add a simple command in girder, like for pushing a key or clicking the mouse button? I just can't understand how it works :)

Now that's pretty simple. You add a new command by pressing CTRL+A or by using Menu: Edit->Add Command. Then you go to the Keyboard Tab and use the drop down menu to simulate a key press. If you want letters, you just enter i.e. x in the sentence box. After that you assign a remote control button to the command by pressing Learn Event. That's it!
EDIT: When I "press" F13 I am able to change the subtitle language. But those other F-Keys don't seem to work!

The Learn Event button doesn't seem to do anything on my machine, what should I see after pressing it?

You should press a button in your remote control and Girder will show the code in the LCD display. If you want I can send you my Zoom Player group so you have an example of how it works.

Hehe, just found "enable input device" in the menu, but when I select it an error message comes up "LoadLibrary Fail: BT848 Drivers". Any idea what driver it needs?

Once I got it to work with a TV card (Winfast TV2000) using its specific driver. It looks like there's no generic driver for bt8x8 based cards, the IR interface must be different in each one of them. Isn't there a driver for your card?

I'm regulary using borg tv 1.1 under xp and it freezes the OS if install the tuner drivers... Are you sure girder would need those crappy wdm drivers? What if I were using it under win9x? For that the drivers are completly different.

It's not really a driver, it's only a dll you add to Girder, but they call it driver. Well it is a driver, but not for Windows :) Girder and also IRAssistant don't need a driver to work like Bremote.
I'm thinking that maybe what you meant is that Girder in order to recognize a bt8x8 remote control needs both its own extension dll and the bt8x8 drivers installed in Windows. Well I'm not sure about that, but if you got that error message then it's possible that it needs them :(

@Gabest:
DVobSub's behaviour is weird, at least through Girder. F13 goes from one subtitle to another, but never switches them on or off. F14 doesn't work. F15 works fine. Anyway, I can switch between subtitles so it's enough for me, but maybe someone found a way to make it work fine.
