I belong to the SVCD team ( Smart Ripper>DVD2AVI>
TMPGenc sequence) and I collect music clips.

As I am looking for good sound quality can someone tell
me the difference between the options above when converting
an AC3 5.1 file? These options appear in DVD2AVI, HeadAC3he/Azid
and Besweet/Azid.

What happens with the center, rearL and rearR channels
when I do not choose the surround downmix?

I assumed by your audio FAQ that, for the same bitrate and
same sampling frequency, the dual channels and joint stereo
options would loose quality if compared with stereo. Right?

Hi DSPguru

I did two searches on the forum - with
AC3 and Azid - and I looked back 10
screens on each search. I found no
answer to my question.

The manuals I read only show how
to get the stereo, or surround option,
but they do not explain what is happenig
behind the option.
