I've seen divx5 video that I encoded using no new divx5 features except crop/resize hang several times now. several times on startup it has crashed my player and other times the video freezes only a few seconds into the playback. Now , I'm watching a movie i did a few days ago that was fine for the first 68 minutes then... the video dropped into a slow motion mode or something while the audio kept moving along uninterrupted. I also noticed on an Imax I encoded in divx5 that there was a definate SKIP on a shuttle launch scene. I re-encoded the scene 4 times with divx5 with the same flaw each time but on the 5th try i encoded divx4 and achieved a nice smooth recording of the launch.

..yeah ok , probably just me.

pleae dont mislead other people with unearned misguided praise for what seems to be a faulty software. This is not a professional review site or something. People post their positive experiences as well as their negative experiences (and there have been a lot of these for divx 5 as well).
I don't think you're the only one here who has watched a whole divx5 movie up to now, so possibly (probably?) it's a singular problem that can be solved somehow.

f.e. don't use the internal crop/resize feature, it seems indeed to be faulty. Why haven't you tried encoding again without the internal resize? You can't make a fair comparison to Divx4 when you are using another resizing filter, can you?
