View Full Version : How about using Azid.dll for AC3 as a DirectSound filter?

Here we have a great and free AC3 decoder (Azid!!). And we still use semi-hacked/illegal iviaudio.ax to do the AC3 decoding. I don't have the Windows coding knowledge to do it myself but why not use Azid.dll for that instead. Create a DirectShow filter and maybe an Audio Codec (don't hit me here... I haven't digged in to the Windows internals... I'm a Linux geek). The only thing that has to be added is SP/DIF-passthrough.

Am I crazy or does it seem appealing or something?
