I haven't seen these on this board, so I just post them her, foregive me if these are know problems. All these happened when I try to encode credit (white on black from captured film), only credit seperatly not the built-in function and try to get the smallest size (read bad quality).
- when using cbr with very low bit rate (eg. 5k.sec) and turning luma-masking on, virtualdub crashes, no matter which build (koepi's, nic's or uManiacs')
- when using other 1 pass methodes (qulity @ 1, or quantizer @ 31) luma-masking on I've very strange results, black turns grey and white letter jumps from grey to white to dark gray ...
In all cases I used mpeg quant and motion search @ 6
Solution: turn of the luma-mask. anyway you don't psycological stuff for very bad quality video, it won't help :)
